Lots of rain this spring and early summer has meant a bumper strawberry crop.
But the sweeter ones are alpine strawberries.
I first ate these strawberries in the wild while sitting on the banks of a lake in Bergen, Norway. They are only about the size of a fingernail and the flavour is intense as it bursts on your tongue. Imagine my delight on finding a plant at the nursery when I returned to Armidale!
